These are from Tuesday, May 1st 2008 in San Francisco, CA - May Day. If you got here directly, you might be interested in the main index page for this report.

Notice the t-shirt.

That's the flag of Guatemala.

So at this point the march was done - I mostly wandered around the rally for a while and shot video but I did fill in a couple of things I'd missed.

Revolutionary Communist Party.

So quiet you needed to put a sign on your bike so everybody would know?

I'm pretty sure that's Cesar Chavez.

"The most dangerous weapon is an educated Chicana. Be all you can be in the Raza"(La Raza is "the race" - basically a Latina/Chicana supremacist statement.) Ironically her looks were attracting a whole lot more attention than her education.

There was music, so a mosh pit formed.

In addition to the guys with the ice cream cards, there were lots of people with coolers selling drinks and tamales and stuff. It all looked way better than the crap you see at the regular anti-war protests.

These folks were in the march but decided to do their own thing at the rally.

"We are all humans, we demand a better world, we will not accept any form of slavery, Revolutionary Communist Party"

Italian for Refounded Communist Party?
